What to Do When You Feel Stuck in Life

Feeling stuck usually comes from one of three issues: confusion, fear, or exhaustion.

Step 1: Identify the type of stuck

  • Confused stuck: too many options
  • Fear stuck: you know what to do but avoid it
  • Exhausted stuck: you are running on empty

Step 2: Reduce your world to one problem

Write: “The main thing I am avoiding is ______.”
Stuckness is often avoidance wearing a disguise.

Step 3: Create a 7 day experiment

Do not decide your entire future. Run a short experiment:

  • 7 days of learning a skill
  • 7 days applying for jobs
  • 7 days of daily exercise
    Experiments create evidence. Evidence creates confidence.

Step 4: Ask for honest feedback

Talk to one person who will not flatter you. Ask:
“What do you think is my biggest blind spot right now?”

Stuckness is not a personality trait. It is a signal. Treat it like a problem you can solve.
